Experiences

You come along in our parkagainst special birds and mammals. Walk through their natural habitat, watch and learn during the feeding talks or visit the unique bird demonstration. There is plenty to experience!

More than 230 animal species live in Avifauna. All sorts beautiful birds live with it small mammals from their habitat.

We invest in the protection of flora and fauna in various ways, both in our park and far beyond our national borders. That social meaning is anchored in everything we do.

Nature conservation

Vogelpark Avifauna continuously invests knowledge and resources in nature conservation projects. Every year we support in various projects, both in our own environment and in vulnerable nature areas elsewhere in the world.

Avifauna renews

To ensure the well-being of our animals and attractive to remain for visitors, we must constantly renew our animal park. We translate the latest scientific insights into our approach and care of the animals.

Careers

As an employer, Avifauna plays an important role in the region. Hundreds of young people found their first (holiday) job with us. Specialized professionals know where to find us from all over the country, as do many volunteers and interns Besides.

the origin

On the estate of Mr. Van den Brink started as a hobby Vogelpark Avifauna. Op May 17, 1950 opened it very first bird park in the world officially are deur.

Out-of-School Care (BSO)

We have special BSO arrangements for childcare organizations. Nice, such a different activity!

Nature and Environmental Education (NME)

Birdlife is for the municipalities of Alphen aan den Rijn, Kaag & Braassem and Nieuwkoop active as NME partner.

Support Avifauna

Then you can support our animal park in various ways. And the great thing is: your support goes directly to the animals and to the park, because as an ANBI foundation Avifauna has no profit motive. This means that all donated money directly contributes to our idealistic objectives in the field of nature conservation and nature education. That's money well spent!

Symbolic contribution to avifauna: Support our accommodations

Avifauna offers various symbolic adoption programs for both organizations and individuals. With an annual contribution you support us in the design and maintenance of accommodations. It is a great way to stay involved with our park. Visit our donation shop for the various possibilities.

We are happy with your donation!

You can use donate in various ways ons bird park. If you book a ticket with us, you will already be offered that option. You will also find several in the park itself donation kiosks in animal species or projects who support of ours park visitors can use. Or visit our veye demonstration, where the cockatoo will personally collect your donation from you. Don't want to wait? Then you can also donate immediately!

BIRDS AND ZOO

Will you be our new volunteer?

Without volunteers our zoo would not be able to function. They help us with the care of the animals, the maintenance of the park and for example with the educational activities. Do you like being outside and do you love nature? Or do you like teaching visitors or school children something? Do you have green fingers or a pair of golden hands?

For sponsorship or larger donations we would like to get in touch with you. Did you know Vogelpark Avifauna is designated as a Public Benefit Institution (ANBI)? Because of this ANBI status, there are tax advantages associated with donations, legacies and legaciesn, which makes this form of support extra attractive. We are happy to tell you more about the possibilities.
