Frequently Asked Questions

It is of course possible that you have questions about, for example, the park, the animals, booking tickets or accessibility. That is why the frequently asked questions are listed below. Who knows, the answer to your question may be here. Otherwise, we are happy to talk to you. The options for this are on the contact page.

Buy tickets

Buying a ticket is very simple! You click on the orange button top right with 'Tickets'. Then you determine the day of your visit. Then choose the number of people and fill in your details.

Note: also for children of 0 to 2 years old need a ticket can be reserved, of course you don't pay anything for this.

When you visit, take your entranceticket along. This may also be shown by telephone.  

Please note: you get a discount when you purchase an online ticket! 

You pay the normal price at the checkout. 

A ticket must also be reserved for children aged 0 to 2 years. Of course you don't pay for this. 

The barcode can be scanned from the smartphone or tablet. You can also print the ticket. Open the file in the attachment, print it and take it with you to the entrance.

Are you a supervisor of someone in a our own wheelchair? Then you buy your ticket logos at the cash register and you will receive a 50% discount. 

Residents of Alphen aan den Rijn, Aarlanderveen, Benthuizen, Boskoop, Hazerswoude-Dorp, Hazerswoude-Rijndijk, Koudekerk aan den Rijn and Zwammerdam can go to the Vogelpark Avifauna with a special Alphenaren-rate of € 13,50 per person. Valid from March 29 to November 3, 2024. Only valid at the bird park ticket office upon presentation of identification. If your current place of residence within the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn is not stated on your ID, you must also provide a recent one to take mail showing the place of residence. This also applies to the children.  

The playground is part of the bird park, you cannot buy a separate ticket for it. 

Accessibility

After entering you can walk freely through the park until closing time. 

You can borrow chairs with a €1 coin at the entrance of the park. With these chairs you can go into the park! Unfortunately, these seats cannot be reserved. We recommend that you bring a cushion to sit more comfortably.  

You can also enter the park with your own wheelchair. Please note that Avifauna is a nature park, which means that not all paths are equally straight. Apart from a number of bumps, Avifauna is also easily accessible for wheelchair users. There are also disabled toilets in the park. 

Yes, the queue for the grandstand is gettingt feel free held as a wheelchair spots. 

Yes, this is allowed! We only advise not to enter the off-leash areas, because the animals can scare each other. Note: at the off-leash area Cloudy monkey island is runningbridge under power.

GPlease indicate before the visit that you are coming with an assistance dog via contact@avifauna.nl 

Pets are unfortunately not allowed in the park. In the bird park you walk among the animals. This can scare you and our animals, injure themselves or even get sick. For the safety of all animals, we have therefore decided to no longer allow pets in the park. Unfortunately not the smallest either animals, whether or not of transported in trolleys, bags, etc. We thank you for your understanding. 

Yes, little kids are allowed to enter the park with a balance bike. Scooters and bicycles are unfortunately not allowed in the park. 

Vogelpark Avifauna is non-smoking. Smoking is only allowed at the point indicated above, namely next to the park restaurant. It smoking point is also marked on the map.  

Yes, but make sure that food and drinks are properly stored is. 

Playground

This season you can only enjoy in the outdoorsplayground, the arcade unfortunately remains closed.

The play attractions are only intended for children up to the age of 12, with the exception of the Eagle. Here, older ages can also access the attraction.

At the attractions it is indicated what must be taken into account, such as age or height. You can also always contact the employees with questions.

Dieren

Being in Avifauna there are currently about 230 bird and animal species. Are you benieuh which one? Then come and take a quick look at our bird park or make aldefinitely acquainted with a pair of our animals on the website.  

This is only possible in the Lori Landing. Here you can buy a cup of nectar for €1,50 

The other animals in the park may not be fed at all.

Subscription holders/Hotel guests

To do this, log in to the website (register/login button in the top right corner), there you have the choice for between 'a new subscription' of 'your subscription extend it'. When online extend it (within 3 months after), wecatch you €6,00 discount. 

Buy a subscription on the day of your visit? That is possible with a discount! You will receive your entrance fee back at the cash register. NB! Bij With all in action tickets we charge €11,00 per person. You can via contact@avifauna.nl made a online code to purchase a subscription with a discount within 48 hours after your visit.   

When logging in to the website (top right the register/login button), you can indicate that you have forgotten your password. After this you will receive via email a new password.

Ja, this is possible. The subscription can be picked up at the cash register after three working days. 

Yes we have for determining the maximum capacity already takes into account the hotel guests FROM der Valk Avifauna. Take it the casing of your room key to the entrance of the bird park. If you don't already have these, or have already submitted, you can visit the park that day. Leave for this de confirmation email of your overnight stay seen at the entrance of the park. 

Parking

Yes, parking costs €5,00 per day

Yes, these parking spaces are located close to the entrance. 

We are busy installing charging stations in the parking lot.

There is ample opportunity to park your bicycle. These are unguarded parking facilities. 

Photo & Video

Avifauna is a suitable place for taking beautiful photos and videos. Especially in the summer season. Taking photos and videos for private use is therefore allowed. 

Do you want to make recordings professionally? Please contact the Marketing Communications department at Vogelpark Avifauna via marketing@avifauna.nl. If you take and/or use professional photos or film material without permission, you commit a criminal offense and you can be prosecuted legally. 

Of course you can take the wedding photos here! The bridal couple can enter for free and the rest of the group, including the photographer, pays the normal rate.

If you are coming, please let us know in advance so that we can inform the box office.
