We invest in the protection of flora and fauna in various ways, both in our park and far beyond our national borders. That social meaning is anchored in everything we do.

Nature conservation

Vogelpark Avifauna continuously invests knowledge and resources in nature conservation projects. Every year we support in various projects, both in our own environment and in vulnerable nature areas elsewhere in the world.

Avifauna renews

To ensure the well-being of our animals and attractive to remain for visitors, we must constantly renew our animal park. We translate the latest scientific insights into our approach and care of the animals.

Vacancies

As an employer, Avifauna plays an important role in the region. Hundreds of young people found their first (holiday) job with us. Specialized professionals know where to find us from all over the country, as do many volunteers and interns Besides.

On the estate of Mr. Van den Brink started as a hobby Vogelpark Avifauna. Op May 17, 1950 opened it very first bird park in the world officially are deur.

We have special BSO arrangements for childcare organizations. Nice, such a different activity!

Birdlife is for the municipalities of Alphen aan den Rijn, Kaag & Braassem and Nieuwkoop active as NME partner.

Accessibility

Q: I have difficulty walking. Are wheelchairs available?

Yes, b at the entrance of the park are 'walking difficulties' - chairs to borrow . You have for this a coin of € 1, - required. Unfortunately, these seats cannot be reserved.

Q: Do you have a disabled toilet?

Yes, in each restaurant find a disabled toilet le t . The toilets are nicely spread throughout the park and are accessible free of charge.

Q: Can I bring my dog or another pet?

No, h pets are unfortunately not allowed in the park. In ons bird park you walk among the animals. From your pet they can frightened, injured or even contracted illnesses. For this reason become pets not allow ge businesses to the park. Thanks for your concept.

Q: I depend on an assistance dog for my mobility. Can I take it with me?

Yes, h being ulph dogs allowed, if recognized trained and clearly recognizable as an assistance dog. Of course they must be kept on a leash.

Vogelpark Avifauna welcomes all visitors, including those using a wheelchair or walker. Our zoo is also easily accessible for them, so that they can enjoy a carefree day out. Of course there are also 'ordinary' rules of conduct in our park to keep a visit pleasant and cozy for people and animals. Please read them carefully so that you are not faced with any surprises.

Can I smoke in Avifauna?

Vogelpark Avifauna is non-smoking. Smoking is only permitted at the point indicated above, namely next 'Casa Havana' The smoking point is also indicated on the map.

Are there any other rules I must follow?

To ensure that all visitors can have a fun day, we have laid down the rules of conduct in our park regulations. Every visitor must adhere to this, for a safe and pleasant visit. Thank you in advance!
