Foundation Vogelpark Avifauna considers the protection of nature very important. Nature and environmental education (NME) can contribute to this. That is why Avifauna has an NME offer for schools in the region. Avifauna has made agreements about this with the municipalities and school boards. Covenants, arrangements and agreements
Avifauna has made agreements with three municipalities regarding the NME. This means that the rules and agreements may differ per municipality. If you fall outside these 3 municipalities, it is of course also possible to purchase products. Below is a brief explanation of what has been agreed per municipality. Alphen aan den Rijn
The NME is subsidized by the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn, because it finds it important to increase the connection with nature by having it physically experienced and lived. If children and adults feel more connected to nature, they will want to take better care of it.
Foundation Vogelpark Avifauna can facilitate the NME for only €2,00 per pupil thanks to this subsidy. For €2,00 per pupil, schools are entitled to as many products as the number of classes at the school. You can freely choose from material packages, teaching kits, excursions and guest lessons. If you want to make an additional request, this is possible for a fee. The transport of the packages is provided by Avifauna and material packages and teaching kits are delivered to and picked up from school. The transport for excursions must be organised by the school itself.
The NME is carried out by the Foundation Vogelpark Avifauna in accordance with the agreements and guidelines made in consultation with the foundation boards and the municipality.
Nieuwkoop & Kaag and Braasem
It is possible for schools in the municipalities of Nieuwkoop & Kaag and Braassem to purchase NME products for a fee. There is currently no agreement in place here, but schools can use the NME offer. These schools are free to decide for themselves whether or not to submit an application. In January/February, an invoice will be sent to the school or school board based on the amounts below. A one-time €10 administration fee is charged per application (school).
Cost per product:
- Material package: €45,- incl. transport
- Teaching box: €50,- incl. transport
- Excursion: €75 excl. transport
- Guest lesson: €75,-
All prices mentioned are exclusive of VAT.
Other municipalities
The offer is available to all municipalities in the Netherlands. The following rates apply for the municipalities outside Alphen aan den Rijn, Nieuwkoop and Kaag en Braassem: Costs per product (excl. transport):
- Material package: €50
- Teaching box: €55
- Excursion: €80
- Guest lesson: €80
(All prices mentioned are exclusive of VAT) For giving a guest lesson or delivering a material package/lesson box on location, € 0,23 cents per kilometer will be charged. Material packages or teaching boxes can also be picked up at Avifauna.
