Little bird of paradise shines in new habitat

After a period behind the scenes, they're finally in their new home: our enchanting birds of paradise! These special animals came to Avifauna through a government seizure and were temporarily kept out of sight of visitors. With great care and dedication, our zookeepers have helped them feel completely at home again—and it's a testament to their dedication!

These birds truly thrive in their colorful, naturally designed habitat. A place full of life, color, and magic.

A dance full of impressions

Marvel at their spectacular plumage and the impressive courtship displays of the males. Their graceful dance movements, rhythmic leaps, and unique sounds combine to create a natural spectacle you won't soon forget.

Did you know…

  • …there are more than 40 species of birds of paradise, each with its own color palette and dance style?
  • ...males practice their dance for hours to impress females?
  • ...their bright colors are caused by light refraction in the feathers, and not by pigment?
  • …birds of paradise in the wild mainly live in the rainforests of New Guinea and surrounding islands?
  • …they contribute to the conservation of their habitat by spreading seeds?

Come and see Avifauna!

Experience the magic of the birds of paradise up close and discover why they're considered among the most beautiful birds in the world. In their new habitat, you'll see not only their beauty but also their natural behavior—a unique experience only available at Avifauna.
