OUR NATURE

Japanese Snowball

The Dutch name of this tree is a clear reference to the white flowers that resemble snowballs with their spherical shape. Although these shrubs can reach three meters in height, after 10 years most plants are about one meter in height. It is therefore a slow-growing, but hardy plant.

Prehistoric arrow shafts

The wood of the Japanese snowball was already used by man in prehistoric times. Finds from that time show that arrow shafts were made from this.

Although the plant originates from Asia, the cultivar originated in our park in England. A cultivar is a plant that has been developed through cultivation techniques and is selected for specific characteristics.
