Cuban brackish water swamp

We may know Cuba mainly from cigars, salsa music and rum, but did you know that it is also a real bird country? Almost a quarter of the island is a nature reserve and there are many plant and animal species that only occur in Cuba. In Avifauna we simulated the swamp areas of the south of Cuba.

A colorful experience

The Cuban brackish water swamp is perhaps one of the most colorful experiences of our bird park. Many colorful birds can be seen here, such as red and black ibises, graceful flamingos, spoonbills and avocets. The flamingos live in large groups, and the colony in Avifauna immediately attracts attention with its beautiful pink hues.

Of course there is much more to see in the real Cuba, because the country also has beautiful mountain ranges with deciduous and coniferous forests, tropical rainforests and green plains. In our Cuban Brackish Water Swamp you can already catch a glimpse of that rich nature, without having to cross the Atlantic Ocean.
