There's plenty of baby happiness in the park! We welcome three special newcomers:
Vicuña calf spotted – The vicuñas are also expanding their family! These graceful animals – the national symbol of Peru – are extra special because of their soft wool and continuously growing teeth. You'll find them in the Argentine Cerrado, where they live alongside rheas, crested coots, and even the giant anteater.
Emperor tamarin twins Our emperor tamarin mother has given birth to two tiny cubs, each weighing only 35 grams! They nurse from their mother every few hours, while their father and the rest of the pod help with care. You can admire them on Nuboso Island, where the South American tropical rainforest comes to life.
Red howler monkey born – A young red howler monkey was also born on Nuboso Island. The little one clings tightly to its mother, who carries it everywhere for its first few months.
