At the Rüppellsgieren, a very special couple has emerged this year. Two males have completely found each other. Because this couple started to show nesting urge together and couldn't get an egg together, it was examined whether they could form a suitable adoptive couple. To determine this, a fake egg was placed in their nest to see what they would do with it. And yes! Immediately they began to breed. Finally, when it was established that they both took care of this egg, the now well-known switch trick was applied. The fake egg has been exchanged for a previously hatched young from the incubator in Diergaarde Blijdorp. The male couple accepts the little vulture as their own young and raises it very well!
